Beyond the Routine Wash
A clean boat is more than a recently-washed boat. The salt that re-deposits as the hull dries, the rust streaks that form around stainless hardware, the canvas that's quietly losing its water repellency, the vinyl seats that fade and dry out — all of it happens between the moments you actually have time to detail. The five products in this collection are built for those problems specifically. Use them as needed, not on every wash.
When to Reach for Each One
- Concentrated Marine Cleaner — for grease, oil, fuel residue, and grime that boat soap leaves behind. Multi-surface degreaser that's safer on gelcoat than the household alternatives.
- Rust & Stain Remover Gel — for rust streaks under stainless hardware, hard water stains, and tannin marks. Thick gel stays on vertical surfaces instead of running off.
- Marine Canvas Waterproofing Spray (Water Repellent) — for canvas that's stopped beading water. Restores waterproofing for up to 12 months. Silicone-free formula doesn't attract dirt.
- Marine Vinyl & Soft Top Dressing — for faded or drying vinyl seats, cushions, and soft tops. UV protection without the greasy, dust-attracting residue of household vinyl protectants.
- Instant Marine Detailer Spray — for the maintenance pass between full washes. Cleans light dust and salt spray, leaves a high-gloss finish, and includes a built-in spider repellent.
The Maintenance & Protection Sequence
A typical seasonal protection routine using this line: spring commissioning gets a Concentrated Marine Cleaner pass to strip winter grime, followed by Rust & Stain Remover Gel on any spots that wintered over. Canvas gets re-waterproofed with the Marine Canvas Waterproofing Spray. Vinyl seats get treated with Soft Top Dressing. Mid-season, weekly Instant Marine Detailer keeps everything looking fresh between full details. Re-treat canvas annually; vinyl every 4–6 weeks during heavy sun exposure.
Why Marine-Specific Cleaners and Protectants
Household cleaners and waterproofers aren't formulated for the conditions boats actually face. Household degreasers can damage gelcoat. Generic canvas waterproofers contain silicone that attracts dirt and attracts mildew growth on marine fabrics. Automotive vinyl protectants leave a slick, oily finish on marine seats that boaters dislike and that attracts dust. Aquatech's line is formulated for marine surfaces specifically — better results, less risk of damage, longer-lasting protection.
